Chuck Todd said Mueller could drop something big: 'I won't miss work tomorrow'
Chuck Todd of MSNBC considers all signs pointing to special adviser Robert Mueller making a big step on Friday.
President Donald Trump on Thursday called for an investigation into Russia that intervened in "illegal investigations."
"This is a president who feels like something is going on around him, the walls may be closed, and I think he relented," Sahil Kapur from Bloomberg told MSNBC's "MTP Daily".
Republican strategy, Brad Todd, however, said Mueller had "responsibility" to know when "he passed the deadline when he had credibility with the public."
"How many times have we got?" Chuck Todd's questioning.
Host MSNBC said everyone who worked with Mueller was sure he would end the investigation if there was no evidence of collusion.
He also said Mueller would "remain silent" between Labor Day and the November elections to not be accused of disturbing politics.
Daniella Gibbs Léger from the American Center for Progress predicts Mueller will drop the big news in the January results.
But Chuck Todd said it could be much earlier.
"I will be honest with you: I will not lose my job tomorrow," he said, referring to Friday, the last working day before Labor Day. "I won't miss the job tomorrow."
He then added: "It can't be a cliché, but at 5pm it's a big dead end, isn't it?"
